E.E. Nobbs and A Poetry of Elephants

A big Thank You to Elly Nobbs who has undertaken an amazing piece of investigative journalism on behalf of A Poetry of Elephants. You can find her beautifully presented article about all things elephantine here at Elly from Earth.  To give you a flavour, this is what Valerie Morton, the publisher, said (and, yes, the mystery is now revealed):

‘From the moment Rebecca put the anthology together I felt a little seed inside growing and knew here was something special we could do together.

It was such a good idea that somehow I couldn’t bear the thought of it living such a short life as things seem to do online, and then flying off into the ether. It so deserved to be there in print and working to help those elephants she felt so passionate about.

For me also it was a wonderful opportunity for poetry to act as a voice for these beautiful animals. I have loved them all my life and have been horrified at the cruel trade in ivory which threatens their survival….’

Elly gives you a wealth of information about elephants and what you can do to help (apart from give the book, A Poetry of Elephants, to everyone you can think of!)

So happy with the way this has developed – it’s been and is going on being a great experience and it has been so good to work with all involved. Elly has done a fantastic job putting it all together and thanks go to the DSWT for letting us use their photographs and the very moving video. So glad you fell in love with elephants Rebecca and were so inspired in the first place – it was infectious. Thank you. x

    • It was your idea that made this book come to life and which has made it wonderful. Lovely to work with so many people and all in aid of elephants. Well done to you, Valerie. And oh,I sometimes have ideas but I always need people to carry them through, as you did! xxx
